Home Study Scheduled
Our first Home Study visit is officially scheduled- next Wednesday, March 17th at 6PM. Must be our Lucky Day! ;) We will find out during that meeting whether or not we will have 2 or 3 total visits to complete (Wednesday being one of them). After all the visits are done, it will take about a month for our Home Study report to be generated with all the information we give and compile during our meetings. I guess an April Dossier send-off date wasn't too inaccurate!

Dad and I are in "prayer without ceasing" mode! Isn't it great to rest in God's arms!
ReplyDeleteHey there,
ReplyDeleteWe had three visits total (can't believe that was 3 years ago!). . .our initial one with both of us with our Social worker, a second one during which we each met separately with our Social Worker--each took about an hour and the other person just hung out or took a walk, and then our third visit was when the Social Worker came into our home. For the home visit, we had to have our door locks, cabinet locks (cleaning supplies locked up), easily accessible fire extinguisher--we have one in the kitchen and one in the laundry room, and at least plans for the baby gates for our stairs (two sets for us). We also had to be prepared to talk about the Baby's room and show where it would be--an actual room separate from other rooms. The door locks (they slip on over the handle and are hard to turn for little hands) have actually come in the most handy out of everything. Once the kiddo learned how to open doors, he was out. . .and even went out into the front yard and over to our neighbors before we even knew he left!! Scary. We still have the door locks on the front and back doors and the pantry door--he knows where I stash the candy!
You do have to tal about these safety measures in Court and talk about any suggestions your Social Worker had that you followed up on.
Good luck and can't wait to hear more!
Stacy
I will be sure to have my entire pre-school class praying for you on Wednesday! :-)
ReplyDeleteBest of luck on Wednesday!! Although the love & kindness that fills your home will not need luck to show you are well deserving of this. I'll be thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteLove, Alicia
Have fun tonight! I hope everything goes beautifully!
